What makes us

Different?

Davey Day Care believes that every child in the community should have the chance to achieve their full potential and develop the fundamental skills for a lifelong interest in learning within a secure, loving and caring environment. We aim to support parents/carers in their role as the prime educators of their children.

Here are a few examples of what make us different:

  • DDC have the personal touch with families and children. Families are welcomed into the setting and offered a friendship as well as excellent childcare.

  • DDC offer lower ratio’s than the standard regulations to enable more one on one and better care provided. Our ratios are 1 adult to 3 children under 2’s, 1 adult to 4 children under 3 and 1 adult to 6 children between 3 and 4.The standards are 1:3 babies, 1:4 2’s, 1:8 pre-school, no ratio’s on over 5’s.

  • DDC is a one stop provision for ALL early years childcare needs.

  • Transition – We help children through difficult transitions and help keep continuity of childcare especially for early years children going to school.

  • We offer 51 weeks per year contracts and term time only contracts

  • Multiple DDC staff are first aid trained so they can react to any accident or incident immediately.

  • 5 star food hygiene rating with environmental health.

  • We provide a hot meal in the afternoon to enable parents a smooth and hassle free hand over without having to worry about making dinner for their child after a long day at work.

Our aims are to:

  • Provide a secure and challenging environment for all children to play, learn and develop freely at their own pace.

  • Help children to develop responsibility for themselves and their actions and to become competent, confident, independent and co-operative individuals.

  • Encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect for both themselves and other people.

  • Promote a positive relationship with parents/carers and work in partnership with them to provide high quality play and care for their children.

  • Offer inclusive services that are accessible to all children in the community.

  • Undergo regular monitoring and evaluation of our services to ensure that the setting continues to meet the needs of children and parents/carers.
